Non Metal Utility Locating Service

In order to trace a non-metal water line, an acoustic device is needed. The acoustic device uses a transonde and a receiver. The utility locating service will attach the transonde at the water line or if that is not available, it can be attached to a fire hydrant. The job of the transonde is to emit a sound wave through the water inside the pipeline and then the receiver is used to listen for this sound. Magnetometers are another device used to locate any buried metal objects other than pipelines. This can include fuel storage tanks and other metal objects buried under the soil. The magnetometer can create a hard copy map of all the metal beneath the surface site and this is very useful when hazardous materials might be present.
